Wine Review: This refreshing Chardonnay is light yellow colored with a tropical nose of lemongrass, mango and green melon with some buttery notes. It is medium bodied, has moderate acidity and nicely coats your mouth. Its flavor profile features lime, pear, spice, gooseberry, oak and light minerality. The lightly citrus finish is moderate in length. This wine is a very good value at $13. I would pair this Chard with chicken Kiev. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: Happily, this wine makes keeping people happy very easy. Monterey's combination of moderate climate and marine influences from the Pacific Ocean keep the grapes on an even keel, able to develop fully ripe flavors that tend to show some lemon and lime zest, a touch of ripe apple and tropical aromas and flavors. We call it crisp and clean, with well-balanced acids. This wine's natural acidity compliments tangy, spicy foods and shows well with the richness of creamier dishes.
