Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling from Hermann Wiemer opens with fragrant and appealing Bosc pear and ginger bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic, mostly dry and juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty Bosc pear with notes of mild minerality and gentle ginger. I also detected hints of Granny Smith apple and peach towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Riesling is very food friendly and would pair well with grilled halibut with tarragon beurre blanc sauce and rosemary-garlic roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: These core characteristics of the HJW vineyard are expressed in this exclusive vineyard-specific wine. Invigorating crispness and an appealing balance of flavors combine with an unprecedented minerality, which carries into an impressive and enduring finish.
