Wine Review: This almost clear colored Riesling from the Magdalena Vineyard in the Finger Lakes, opens with a fragrant ripe pear, honey and spice like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, rich and very flavorful. The flavor profile is a ripe Granny Smith apple and Bosc pear blend with notes of mild honey and minerality. I also detected hint of lime and white pepper. The finish is semi-dry and its flavors linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well with pan-seared sea scallops with a dollop of lime butter. Winemaker Notes: The stunning Magdalena vineyard is the northernmost of our three vineyard locations yet consistently features the warmest temperatures across the estate and in the Finger Lakes. The brilliant bouquet of fresh citrus and apple leads into a refreshingly fruit forward palate and a lush, bold finish.
