Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet opens with a black raspberry bouquet with hints of wet stone and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very easy going for a 2008. The flavor profile is a gentle black currant with hints of nicely integrated minerality and mild old oak. I also detected hints of black pepper and plum as well. The finish is dry and its refined tannins are a tad dusty and slightly prolonged. This Cab is ready to go and would pair well with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Heritance Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is an assemblage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A medium-deep to dark ruby hue with some violet overtones is gorgeous in the glass. A gentle swirl releases fragrant black fruit aromas and a beautiful touch of oak that adds pleasant spice and complexity, without hiding the elegant and pleasing structure. This wine is full, round and well-anchored with a classic finish. Although it can age, it is ready to be enjoyed right now.
