Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored blend from Portugal is very good and over-delivers for the money. It opens with a blackberry, plum and moist pipe tobacco bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, round, and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild flinty mineral infused blackberry and blueberry blend with notes of oak, black pepper and spice. I also detected a hint of olive and plum towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a while. This wine would ideally pair with Old Daley Inn marinated grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine is a deep ruby color, with hints of violet. It brings forward notes of ripe red fruits, wild flowers, vanilla and spices. It is well- balanced, round and rich in taste with a very smooth structure. This wine pairs well with roasted meats, game and pork.
