Wine Review: This pitch black colored blend from Portugal is very good. It opens with a fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with hints of beef stick and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a black licorice and blackberry blend with notes of oak. I also detected hints of plum. The finish is dry and its moderate sticky tannins show nice length. This wine would pair well with duck confit. Enjoy - Ken
