Wine Review: The best portfolio that we discovered at this year’s Boston Wine Expo was from Hentley Farm. This particular wine is called the Beauty and we could not agree more. It is pitch black colored and opens with a very fragrant ripe blackberry with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, extremely well balanced and elegant. The flavor profile is a blend of ripe blackberry with notes of blueberry and anise. The finish is dry and its tingly tannins linger for quite a while. This wine would pair well with a ribeye steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 vintage was a cracker with ideal ripening conditions. This wine is a blend of blocks which exhibited vibrant black fruit and lifted Blackberry aromas, as well as rich chocolate and licorice. Four percent Viognier was added to give a further boost to the floral aromatics and increase the level of elegance. The level of Viognier was set to be almost undetectable. It is soft on the surface but brut underneath with amazing balance.
