Wine Review: This dark ruby colored wine opens with a kirsch and leather bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and shows nice finesse for a port-styled wine. The flavor profile is a tasty stewed plum and macerated black cherry blend with notes of minerality. I also detected a touch of raspberry tea towards the end. The finish shows nice length and does a very good job concealing its 18.8% alcohol. This Port would pair well with hand-dipped chocolate covered Maraschino cherries. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crafted in the traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port Style, this wine is fortified with alembic high-proof oak-aged brandy. Dark saturated color showing ruby jewel tones will age to dark plumby amber. Deliciously scented with sultry aromas of sweet pipe tobacco, red roses, dark chocolate. Flavors of smooth, rich caramel, black chocolate cherries, sweet smoky oak, and sandalwood delight the palate. Sweet, yet balanced with tannins and acidity to lend structure. Perfect as an after-dinner drink or sip with chocolate cake! Cigar lover's delight!
