Wine Review: OK, would you buy this wine? A 1984 Pinot Noir that originally cost $17 and was originally given a low score from Wine Spectator. They said it needed time to soften. Well, the time is now and I would buy it because I just had it and can say it is quite impressive. This very dark ruby colored Pinot opens with a black raspberry bouquet with notes of old oak, eucalyptus, and black cherries. It is medium bodied, well balanced, and savory. I could not believe how much life this Pinot had given its age. The flavor profile is a smoky oak infused black raspberry with a hint of black cherry. The finish is dry and its fine dusty tannins are tingly and nicely prolonged. This wine would pair perfectly with beef bourguignon or shaved duck breast. Burgundy fans will love this wine. Enjoy - Ken
