Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley opens with a fragrant and attractive strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused strawberry with notes of oak and cola. I also detected hints of tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. This is a hearty Pinot that would pair well with a pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Estate Reserve Pinot Noir features intense ripe dark fruit character at low alcohol. Aromas of black cherries and blackberries, roses, and brioche yeast, are followed by a full, round mouthfeel, offering flavors of chocolate-covered cherries. There is noticeably crisp acidity, which accentuates the fruit, while soft tannnins create a smooth finish. The refined flavors in this wine make it a perfect pair to classic cuisine such as grilled filet mignon, French onion soup, or lamb stew.
