Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder opens with a graphite and black currant bouquet with hints of oolong tea and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and smooth. The flavor profile graphite and black currant blend with notes of black tea and oak. I also detected hints of loam and sage. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: 2021 Mt. Veeder opens with effusive aromas of ripe, dark plum underscored by a hint of grilled fennel and forest floor. Dark fruit notes carry through onto the palate and are accompanied by flavors of black olive and freshly turned earth. The palate is full and mouth-coating, and boasts layered, opulent tannin that leads into a focused and extremely lengthy finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will continue to evolve over the next 15-20 years.
