Wine Review: This garnet-colored Spanish wine of 90% Tempranillo and 5% each of Graciano and Garnacha opens with a nose of plum, cedar shavings and fruitwood smoke with faint aromas of cocoa powder and wet slate. The flavor profile boasts red currants and dried cherries up front, followed by plum and blackberries. Soft tannins also arrive at mid-palate and moderate acidity enhances the structure. The wine closes with a dry, vanilla-infused blackberry finish of medium length. This good value wine is very agreeable and would pair best with a wood-fired pizza or dishes using roasted vegetables drizzled with balsamic vinegar. – Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Medium-high depth wine, ruby red color with roof tile rim, which denotes its long barrel ageing and its peaceful bottle ageing. Powerful on the nose with primary aromas of ripe fruit accompanied by complex spicy and balsamic notes and a slight touch of vanilla. Balanced on the palate, it is a round and unctuous wine with ripe and sweet tannins, providing the wine with a long aftertaste: and elegant Rioja classic.
