Wine Review: I think that Tempranillo is an up and coming grape in California. We were very pleased with this offering from Gundlach Bundschu. It is very dark purple colored and opens with a very attractive cherry vanilla bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and very rich. The flavor profile is a lush blueberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Complexly layered aromas and flavors of black plum, grilled meat, leather, smoke, cinnamon, clove and ground espresso beans. Broad tannins give the wine a lush, dense mouthfeel, and lead to a long, chewy finish. Delicious now, this wine will show best from three to seven years from vintage.
