Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Gewurztraminer from Gundlach Bundschu opens with a fragrant lychee and pink grapefruit bouquet with hints of honeysuckle and clover. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium lively acidity. The mouthfeel is round and quite juicy. The flavor profile is a tart ruby grapefruit with notes of lychee and apricot. We also detected hints of pineapple and lime. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors linger and last for a while. The Panel would pair this Gewurztraminer with seared tuna or Thai chicken and pineapple stir fry. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: No, it's not sweet! Fermented with Zero residual sugar, this outrageously aromatic (lychee, roses, honeysuckle) white wine is bone dry and a GunBun favorite. Brisk, clean and grapefruity, it’s an ideal companion to spicy food (Gewurz means “spice” in German), like Curries and Thai…or all by itself. Unique clones from vines originally planted by Jacob Gundlach in 1858, there is nothing like it in the world.
