Wine Review: This almost clear colored Gewurztraminer from Gundlach Bundschu opens with a mild light lychee bouquet with a hint of lime. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and zesty. The flavor profile is a mineral infused light lime and lychee blend with hints of green apple and a touch of quince and apricot. The finish is rather dry and its acidity and flavors linger nicely. This Gewurtz is food friendly and would pair well with Coquille St. Jacques. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: When you've been growing the same grape for 160 years, it would be easy to get bored and complacent. In 2017, our fan-favorite Gewürztraminer demonstrates nothing but the energy. Bursting with aromas of fresh jasmine blossoms, lychee, Asian pears, and Gari (sushi ginger), the medium body and supple texture of the wine carry lush pomelo-citrus flavors through a crisp, dry finish. Pair with a variety of cuisines, especially on warm days.
