Wine Review: This pale straw colored Gewurztraminer from Gundlach Bundschu is an old standby for fans of this grape. It opens with a pleasant mild lychee bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and round. The flavor profile is a tart lychee with hints of tangerine, walnut and oak. The finish is dry and pleasant. This Gewurtz would pair nicely with pasta carbonara. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Alluring aromas of ripe pears, tropical fruit, peach blossoms, and zesty lemon complement the 2015 vintage’s mouth-filling and rounded texture. A beautiful expression of 158 years of Gewurztraminer expertise, this pairs with everything from Asian cuisine, to Thanksgiving turkey, to a sunny afternoon.
