Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Gundlach Bundschu really impressed the Tasting Panel. It open with a leather and black currant bouquet with hints of cherry-vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, refined and super silky. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused black currant with notes of gentle stewed plum. We also detected hints of espresso and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this rib roast or ribeye. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Vintage Reserve is loaded with berries, dark chocolate, violets and dried herbs, espresso, toasty vanilla, and rich earth. Supple tannins meld with blackberries, red currants and cocoa powder to offer mouth-filling texture, great acidity and a lingering finish.
