Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Grgich opens with a pleasant mild black raspberry and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well-balanced, smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty stewed red plum with notes of craisin, strawberry and mild minerality. I also detected hint of cinnamon and cedar plank mixed in. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well-managed and show decent length. This Cab is food friendly and can be paired with grilled Colorado lamb chops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Napa Valley Cabernet entices the senses with layers of complex flavors that continue to evolve in the glass and on the palate. Aromas of black currants, violets, and plums dance in the glass, creating a new experience with every taste. The wine is artfully crafted, well-balanced and lingers on the palate with a silky mouthfeel leaving you craving for more. It pairs perfectly with a rack of lamb or ratatouille.
