Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay from Grgich would be nice summer option for fans of the grape. If found it to be rather refreshing for a Chard. It opens with an apple and mild oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and fruit forward. The flavor profile is apple with notes of mild oak and gentle minerality mixed in. I also detected touch of line as well. This Chard is very good and it would pair well with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Miljenko "Mike" Grgich has been called "The King of Chardonnay" since the winery began in 1977, and you can taste why in this classically styled wine. We did not allow the Chardonnay to undergo malolactic fermentation, preserving its natural acidity. The wine's fresh citrus and juicy peach are rounded out with rich, warm vanilla flavors and a touch of minerality that are perfect partners for fresh seafood, roasted chicken, grilled pork, and creamy cheeses.
