Wine Review: This pitch black colored Petite Sirah from Grgich opens with an interesting cherry and devil’s food cake bouquet with hints of ginger. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak infused black currant with hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and black licorice. The finish is dry and its sticky tannins linger for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing this Petite Sirah with a ribeye steak or short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This 100% Petite Sirah has rich aromas and flavors of blueberry pie, black licorice and a hint of worn leather with polished tannins that will only become more complex and smoother with age. Match this substantial wine with well-spiced dishes, such as barbecued pork ribs, Moroccan tagines, Brazillian churrasco, and grilled tri-tip steak. This wine will benefit from decanting an hour before serving.
