Wine Review: This Petite Sirah from Grgich was the clear winner in our recent mini-blind tasting. It is opaque and onyx colored. It opens with an inviting gentle blackberry bouquet with a hint of black licorice and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, very smooth and balanced. The flavor profile is a very tasty oak infused boysenberry with a dash of black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its big tannins are sticky and show nice length. The panel suggested enjoying this tasty wine fire side with a thick dry-aged and well-marbled ribeye or an apricot stuffed duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This 100% Petite Sirah has intense aromas and flavors of black cherry, dried herbs and a hint of cedar with elegant tannins that will only become more complex and smoother with age. Match this big wine with equally substantial flavors such as lamb stew, grilled steak, or aged cheeses. This wine will benefit from decanting an hour before serving.
