Wine Review: This pale white gold colored Gavi initially displays many very tiny bubbles in the glass. It opens with mild grapefruit and tangerine bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral infused mild tangerine with notes of lemon verbena. I also detected hints of faint peach and almond. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Gavi is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with steamed mussels with leeks, garlic, thyme, white wine, and butter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Delicate aromas of white flowers, lemon and green apples with a crisp, medium-bodied palate showing underlying hints of chalky minerality and almonds on the finish. Bone-dry character and crisp, flinty and fresh acidity, coming from the mineral-rich soils of the area. Well-balanced, distinctly fruit driven with underlying hints of almonds on the finish. The wine's medium body and delicate flavors has made it a favorite for the restaurants in nearby Genoa as a wine pairing with the local seafood caught off the Ligurian coast as well as other lighter fare.
