Wine Review: This white gold colored Gavi from Gran Passione is very nice. It opens with a wet stone and pilsner beer like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, bright and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mineral infused lime with hints of green apple, beer, and a touch of honey. The finish is dry and refreshing. This wine would pair well with steamed mussels. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Delicate aromas of white flowers, lemon and green apples with a crisp, medium-bodied palate showing underlying hints of chalky minerality and almonds on the finish. Bone-dry character and crisp, flinty and fresh acidity, coming from the mineral-rich soils of the area. Well-balanced, distinctly fruit driven with underlying hints of almonds on the finish. It may not display great potential alcohol but it is certainly an age-worthy wine. The wine's medium body and delicate flavors has made it a favorite for the restaurants in nearby Genoa as a wine pairing with the local seafood caught off the Ligurian coast as well as other lighter fare.
