Wine Review: This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir from Goldeneye is excellent! It opens with boysenberry and blueberry bouquet with hints of cola, cherry pie and a touch of mint. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and juicy. The flavor profile is concentrated blend of blueberry and black cherry with notes of stewed black plum and clove. We also detected hints of anise, dried herbs, and black tea in the mix. The finish is dry and smooth tannins are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this versatile Pinot with a veal Milanese and grilled leg of lamb. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Once again, Gowan Creek has produced a robust and energetic expression of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, with lovely aromas of glacé cherry, blueberry pie and fresh rosemary. The voluptuous blueberry layers are echoed on the lush, mouthcoating palate, where they are framed by sleek acidity, with hints of pennyroyal and moist earth emerging during a long, resonant finish.
