Wine Review: This pale straw colored Grüner Veltliner from Gobelsburg opens with a green apple and lime bouquet with hints of ginger ale. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a gentle Anjou pear and green apple blend with notes of chalky minerality and saline. I also picked up some hints of white pepper and ginger ale in the mix. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This Grüner would pair nicely with your Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The "classical" KAMPTAL wine is low in alcohol and has a pleasant but not obtrusive aroma and fruit character and therefore is a perfect food companion. Very attractive balance of ripeness and lively acidity that extends from the tip of your tongue to the end of the long, silky finish. The typical expression of Austrian culture of wine. An everyday joy paired with an easy drinkability.
