Wine Review: This ruby colored Cru level Beaujolais from Duboeuf opens with a blackberry bouquet with hints of turned earth and banana. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a black plum and black currant blend with notes of crushed stone minerality. I also detected hints of mild boysenberry, oak and mushrooms. The finish is rather dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. This Gamay should be decanted in the near term. I would suggest pairing this impressive offering from Moulin-à-Vent with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2018 vintage has a brilliant garnet color. It is complex and elegant, with notes of toast, jammy fruits, vanilla and spices - and aromas of faded rose. Full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins. Good aging potential. This wine is best served with foods that boast earthy or spicy flavors.
