Wine Review: This ruby colored Beaujolais from Moulin a Vent is a bit rustic. It opens with a musty red currant and cranberry bouquet. On the palate this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is an oak influenced tart black cherry with notes of red raspberry and earth tones. I also detected hints of juicy black plum and black olive towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and its managed acidity and tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine benefits from a little aeration. I would pair it with coq au vin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Domaine De La Vigne Romaine 2018 displays a shiny garnet color. Aromas of black fruits, blackberry, cassis and spices follow through to the fresh, fleshy, silky and balanced palate. The winery feels that this wine is the essence of Gamay. This wine pairs well with braised brisket, roasted duck breast, spicy dishes, and aged cheeses.
