Wine Review: This dark red colored Gamay from Moulin-a-Vent opens with a blackberry and black licorice bouquet with a hint of tomato leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a purple grape and black plum blend with notes of strawberry. I also detected a hint of faint oak in the background. The finish is dry and its well-managed mild tannins linger nicely. This is a very good Beaujolais. I would pair it with a juicy bacon and mushroom burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Brilliant dark garnet color. Complex and delicate with notes of toast, jammy fruits, vanilla, and floral aromas like faded rose. Full-bodied and structured with elegant tannins. This fine Moulin-A-Vent has good aging potential. Decant before serving with slow-cooked beef ribs, game, or aged cheese.
