Wine Review: This was my favorite of the 2011 Georges Duboeuf flower level wines. It is dark ruby colored and opens with a mild strawberry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, juicy and friendly. The flavor profile is a gentle boysenberry jam with hints of blueberry and black raspberry in the background. This wine will be a real crowd pleaser, a solid value, and would be a perfect party or wedding red. I would pair this very versatile Gamay with a juicy Angus burger or prime rib. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Garnet color. This superb Chiroubles is a very good follow-up to 2010 and 2009, with hints of red and exotic fruits. It is fruity, fresh, lively on the palate and has a voluptuous finish.
