Wine Review: This may be one of the best Beaujolais Villages offerings that I can recall. I usually jump right to the Cru level. This offering is dark ruby colored and opens with a spicy black cherry bouquet with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very approachable for a Villages level entry. The flavor profile is a spicy black raspberry with ripe strawberry notes and a hint of black pepper. The finish is dry and its dusty moderate tannins linger slightly. This is a very affordable offering, which is also quite pleasant. It would be perfect with an Angus burger with melted Swiss and sautéed mushrooms. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Beaujolais-Villages 2009 has a bilberry color and complex, generous dark fruit aromas (blackcurrant, black cherry) with hints of kirsch. Hearty, full-bodied, fleshy and structured on the palate, with a smooth finish.
