Wine Review: This straw-colored Riesling from the Rheinhessen region is very good. It opens with a fragrant and unique petrol, kiwi and lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely acidic and round. The flavor profile is a tasty spiced ripe pear with notes of sweet honey and lime. I also detected hints of white pepper and chamomile tea mixed in. The finish is pleasantly sweet with enough acidity to make it food friendly. I would pair it with sweet potatoes and turkey for Thanksgiving. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Hints of pine frond, earth and smoke entice on the nose of this unusual, remarkably well-priced Riesling. Semi-sweet in style, it's rich and creamy on the palate with luscious peach and grapefruit flavors. It’s surprising nuanced too, exposing layers of steel, crushed mineral and acid that meld beautifully through a long finish. A perfect match for strong Indian and Asian spiced dishes. Also fantastic with a spiced duck leg and soft cheeses.
