Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple Shiraz was pretty popular at our "Green" St. Patrick's Day party. It opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of blueberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry with gently infused oak. The finish is dry and easy going with gentle tannins. This wine is a very good food wine. I would pair it with barbecue spare ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Purple/black. Nose: Blueberries, choc mint, almonds, red cherries and liquorice. Palate: Loads of currants, berries and chocolate coated licorice. Fruit sweetness is layered underneath and the structure, acid and tannin begin to meld the wine. The finish: A powerful yet seamless run home, displaying great length integrated oak, acid and tannin.
