Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Gary Farrell opens with a butterscotch and lemon bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and relatively bright for a Chard. The flavor profile is a chalky minerality and gentle pineapple blend with notes of mild butterscotch and green apple. I also detected hints of almond butter, oak, and a touch of cantaloupe. The finish is dry, and it flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This California styled Chard would paired nicely with a chicken and wild mushroom ravioli smothered in a butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a beautiful, polished, vibrant blend of some truly amazing vineyards. It is incredibly aromatic, exuding aromas of Asian pear, Fuji apple, white peach, and honeysuckle, with a hint of flintiness and barrel spice. Medium bodied and super silky, the flavors open with fresh lemon, white peach, Chamomile, candied ginger and a trace of Marcona almond. Bright, lively acidity, spicy skin tannins and leesy goodness create an elegantly textured wine with a delightfully persistent finish.
