Wine Review: This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir from Gary Farrell opens with a very inviting bouquet of spring florals, along with some notes of dried cherry, strawberry and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile an earthy loam influenced ripe black plum and raspberry blend with notes of dried herbs. We also detected hints of cedar plank, tart black cherry, minerality and white truffle oil. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away effortlessly. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with roasted boneless magret duck breasts with shaved black truffles or blackened mahi-mahi. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Classic Pinot Noir aromas of ripe strawberries, cherries, and cranberry emanate from the glass. These fresh fruit components are carefully balanced with a concert of dried porcini mushrooms, truffles, and leather. Bright and fresh upon entry, the palate is a perfect balance of fruit and earthiness. Silky fine grain tannins provide a subtle firmness throughout, while the beautiful fruit and natural acidity lead the way to an exceptionally long finish.
