Wine Review: This pale straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from Gamble was very popular with the Tasting Panel. It opens with a floral and faint yellow grapefruit bouquet with a hint of lemon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic with nicely coats the mouth. The flavor profile is yellow grapefruit with notes of lime, white pepper and a hint of green apple. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. The Panel thought this very good Sauvignon Blanc would pair nicely with swordfish kabobs or grilled tequila lime shrimp. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The intense aromas and flavors are redolent of sweet treats: toffee apples, creme brulee, apricots and citrus marmalade. Yet this wine is bone dry, supported by lots of acidic citrus notes and a rich creamy texture. More savory elements of white pepper, lime peel and flint add to the layers of flavor and help to frame the long persistent finish. A wine that matures well and actually improves with 6 to 8 years of aging.
