Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa is more Old World and rustic than your typical California Cab. It opens with a black cherry-cola and dark chocolate bouquet with a hint of cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, fruit forward and rich. The flavor profile is a mineral infused mild black currant with notes of integrated oak. We also detected hints of coffee, black cherry and blueberry. The finish is dry and its chewy dusty tannins build up and linger for quite some time. The Panel suggested pairing this Cab with a well-marbled ribeye or braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Galerie Napa Valley Pleinair is deep purple, with potent aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, roasted coffee beans, fresh tobacco leaves and forest floor underneath floral notes. With a full palate of elegant tannins, the mouthfeel is long and full of red fruit and spices.
