Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Riesling from Fritz Haag opens with gentle matchstick and mild Vaseline bouquet with hints of Anjou pear. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with bright plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bracing and very alive. It does have a nice balance between its gentle sweetness and brisk acidity. The flavor profile is a blend of ginger, green tea, poached pear, and lime with notes of white pepper and saline. The finish is off-dry, and its flavors fade away nicely. I would pair this very good value Riesling with almond macaroon cookies. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A brilliantly racy single-vineyard Mosel Riesling made in the delicate and low-alcohol Kabinett style. Brauneberg wines were among the most celebrated of all Mosel Rieslings. The Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett is a selection of early-picked fruit and has a very fine, delicate structure. Its pure, energizing fruitiness and expressive minerality exemplify the Fritz Haag style.
