Wine Review: This almost clear colored Riesling from Fritz Haag opens with a matchstick and faint petrol bouquet with hints of apricot and ginger. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, delicate, creamy and pleasantly sweet. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild mineral and guava blend with notes of lime and ginger. We also detected hints of saline, lemon tea and peach. The finish is remains delicately sweet and linger nicely. The Panel suggested drinking this clean and polished Riesling on its own. With food, we would suggest tandoori chicken. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Juffer Sonnenuhr ("Sundial") vineyard is the choicest center cut of the Brauneberg. The steepest and most south-facing part of the hillside. This Grosse Lage (grand cru) site produces profound, distinctive wines with great purity and concentration. The 2018’s are already showing beautifully, with phenomenal balance, a playful expression of Mosel slate, charming elegance, and above all a delightful drinkability. The Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is gorgeously complex, with a silky mineral structure and a captivating aroma that forces you to pay attention. A classic wine that is delicious now and will age for decades.
