Wine Review: This almost clear colored Riesling opens with a sulfur, petrol and matchstick like bouquet with faint Bosc pear aromas hidden behind it. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, nicely balanced and slightly sweet. The flavor profile is where it impresses most. It displays delicious gentle mineral and ripe apple flavors with notes of yellow Spree candy, honey and orange. The finish is sweet and fades away nicely. The Panel very likely would have scored this wine higher if not for the awkward bouquet which took a while to swirl off. We suggested pairing it with a fig and prosciutto pizza, coconut shrimp or macaroon cookies. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The late-picked Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese has fine, forceful fruit in the aroma, a linear focus on the palate and a pure slate finish. A great choice for spicy dishes with fresh flavors and a lively sweet/tart balance.
