Wine Review: This fresh and refined Sangiovese based blend is a clear deep red color, and has a vibrant bouquet of ripe red raspberry, leather, forest floor, vanilla, and violets. On the palate it is smooth, round, and dry, with a medium body and medium-plus acidity. Very easy to drink. I found flavors of black plum, graphite, black currant, licorice, and oak, with a bit of spice. There are nicely managed sticky tannins, and a moderate length finish with a pleasant bitter walnut note. Pair with a hearty beef lasagna. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico 2020 has a wonderful clear red color. On the nose it has floral notes of violets combined with hints of red fruits, such as raspberry and cherry, not least the hints of wild berries such as blackberry. Also interesting is the spiciness, reminiscent of cloves and some peppery notes. On the palate, the freshness combined with the minerality is simply stunning. Harmonious, dry, and savory. The tannin is notable.
