Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Frei Brothers was a hit with the Tasting Panel. It opens with a fragrant boysenberry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and velvety. The flavor profile is red raspberry and oak with notes of minerality. We also detected hints of cocoa, spice and red plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well managed. The panel suggested pairing this very nice Zin with pot roast or a gorgonzola burger. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: An exemplary expression of the Dry Creek Valley, this well-structured Zinfandel opens with notes of ripe, black cherry and raspberry jam. Rich mocha and caramel flavors meld with a touch of cedar and spice on the palate, culminating in a lingering, fruit-filled finish.
