Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford opens with a fragrant cassis and cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a mineral infused black currant with notes of black cherry. I also detected some oak behind the fruit and touch of black plum. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins and fruit flavors linger for quite some time. This Cab is food friendly and would pair nicely with Colorado lamb chops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Opaque, nearly black, ruby in color, there is an intense depth to this wine. Aromas of blackberry, black currant and Bing cherry are seamlessly integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak, aromatic cedar, cinnamon, clove and a touch of black peppercorn. The wine shows tremendous balance between rich, full fruit flavors, bright acidity, and firm tannin structure.
