Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Freemark Abbey is classy. It opens with a black currant bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a little fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and oak blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and menthol. I also detected a hint of blueberry and acai berry in the background. The finish is dry and its dusty oak tannins are quite sticky. I would decant this Cab and serve it with Stuart’s steak treats. It was a spectacular pairing. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With great complexity, the Rutherford CS expresses aromas of black fruit, Bing cherry, dark chocolate, red raspberry, green olive, tobacco, all integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and a hint of black pepper. The body is very full with a soft entry, coupled with dark cherry/berry flavors that develop with great depth.
