Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Freemark Abbey opens with an attractive lemon and mild oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, round, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is apple with nicely integrated vanilla oak. I also detected some butter and nectarine. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for quite some time. It would pair very well with chicken, penne, and broccoli smothered in a white cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Greenish straw in color, our Chardonnay is concentrated with ripe stone fruit aromas and flavors, with an underlying subtle toasty oak complexity. Very ripe peach with ripe banana is interlaced with vanilla, limeade, clove, nutmeg and pineapple upside down cake. This wine has great viscosity, depth and a crisp long fruitful finish. The 2009 Chardonnay is a pleasant experience, inviting from start to finish.
