Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Frank Family opens with a spicy plum and cinnamon bouquet with a hint of craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tart plum with notes of smoky oak and cherry. I also detected some hints of cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away. This wine definitely benefited from some aeration. So decant it and pair this Pinot with a tangy pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Carneros Pinot Noir appears ruby in the glass and opens with aromas of cinnamon stick, cardamom, and fresh raspberries. The palate offers a soft, balanced structure framed by elegant tannins with flavors of cherry pie, violets, and baking spices followed by a long, decadent finish.
