Wine Review: This straw colored Chardonnay from Carneros is very good. It opens with a fragrant and attractive apple and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a gentle mineral infused green apple with notes of nicely integrated mild oak. I also detected a hint of faint lemon. The finish is dry and flavors fade away nicely. I would pair this very nice Chard with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Frank Family Vineyards’ 2013 Napa Valley Chardonnay has a pale yellow straw color. Aromas of fresh tropical fruit, marzipan and honeysuckle jump from the glass. On the palate, the wine has generous notes of sweet vanilla, pear and Meyer lemon. Stone fruits and ripe citrus zest lead to the rich creamy mid palate, and fresh green apple on the finish. The wine has wonderful length and well-balanced acids.
