Wine Review: This straw colored Chardonnay from Carneros opens with an attractive mild lemon verbena and gentle lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused lime butter and green apple blend with hints of faint oak and a dash of white pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This Chard would pair well pan fried rainbow trout with butter and almonds. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The expressive 2012 Carneros Chardonnay is fruit forward and balanced, delivering scents of pear, apple, butterscotch and pineapple, laced with delicate floral notes of honeysuckle. The attack is layered with succulent stone fruit flavors and buttery, toasted pastry dough. The lively acidity, combined with a rich creaminess and almond toffee flavors, give this wine a long, pleasing finish.
