Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Zinfandel opens with a mild blueberry and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward, and round in the mouth. The flavor profile is a mild oak infused blackberry with hints of black pepper and black currant. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins are sticky and linger for quite a while. This Zin is a perfect wine to pair with barbecue short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Zinfandel is bright scarlet in color and possesses aromas of raspberries, plums, leather, brown sugar and white pepper. Medium bodied on the palate, flavors of sweet plum and caramel are balanced with silky tannins, earthiness and a kick of spice and acidity.
