Wine Review: This dark ruby Cabernet from the Finger Lakes opens with a black currant and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry with hints of oak, blackberry and pomegranate. The finish is dry and some minor mineral notes and tannins show up and linger in the end. This is a good value option to consider with burgers off the grill while tailgating this fall. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: On the nose, this wine delivers an enticing melange of blackberry jam, pomegranate, licorice, sandalwood, olive and sage. Lavish blueberry flavors appearing in the mouth are tempered with smoky notes of cocoa and tar. The finish is richly textured and long; ample fine-grained tannins eventually give way to lingering aromas of raspberries warmed by nutmeg and clove. Food Pairing: Grilled lamb, pot roast, rosemary chicken, roasted root vegetables with thyme and caramelized onions.
