Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Semillon from the Anderson Valley opens with a unique banana cream pie and mango bouquet with a hint of anise. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, round and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused green apple with notes of lemon verbena and almond. I also detected some hints of grapefruit, mango and oak in the aftertaste. The finish is refreshingly dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Semillon is food friendly and would pair well with pan-fried trout drizzled with a light lemon butter sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Semillon is rare in Anderson Valley, and unique to see bottled by its own in California. When crafted with care, it produces a delicious and medium-bodied, dry white wine. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it showcases citrus, a touch of toast (from judicious use of new French oak barrels) and refreshing acidity. A treat in the glass, and something fun and different to pour for friends.
